Statutory Law – Statutory law is written law that is formed by the legislative branch as opposed to “Administrative Law” by the executive branch or “common law” by the judiciary branch.
Statutes may be created by the federal government, state government or by local municipalities. Statutes of lower jurisdictions are subordinate to those of higher jurisdictions.
